Instead, the publisher went to Studio Nue, the legendary design studio behind Macross and Orguss, to create all-new versions of the familiar Battletech mechs. The result was a range of new designs by Shoji Kawamori (of Macross fame, ironically enough).

The Japanese edition came in a cardboard slipcase and featured a rulebook, "four" sheets (really two large sheets folded in half) of cardboard counters, and two hex maps.

Notes: Slipcase and rulebook are worn but in good shape and very usable. Two of the counter sheets are unpunched but show shelf wear. The other two counter sheets are partially punched, with the removed counters included in a plastic bag.
