Acid Bufferzone [Masahiro Ito]

While he may be best known for his work as a monster designer on the Silent Hill games, Masahiro Ito's Acid Bufferzone has been the talk of modelers and fans of interesting sci-fi settings for nearly a decade. The easiest comparison to make would be to Kow Yokoyama's Maschinen Krieger, but while Acid Bufferzone does feature scratch-built models, a larger focus is placed on his illustrations and comics that build out the Soviet-inspired setting.

In addition to one or two limited resin kits, Modelkasten published Acid Bufferzone as a series of small booklets. For whatever reason, these were notoriously hard to find and didn't seem to have wide distribution outside of Modelkasten's web shop and events like Wonder Festival. Thankfully, this new book from Dainippon Kaiga and Modelkasten collects material from the first six (of seven) of the original booklets.

Inside you'll find story details, illustrations, comics, and photos of model kits built by Ito for the series. A few chapters even have English translations. Full color, softcover.
