Neuro Hard was Masamune Shirow's attempt to create a world setting that other creators could use for stories and manga. Unfortunately, its development was cut short by the Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995. This publication was the first time previously published Neuro Hard material was collected outside of its original magazine run.
