Naoyuki Katou was one of the founding members of Studio Nue, the legendary design studio that created sci-fi classics like Crusher Joe and Macross. The talented artists and designers that worked there also contributed to a huge number of novels, TV shows, and anime. Katou was a traditional illustrator who is best known today for his breathtaking paintings used for film, video games, and anime, but among anime fans of a certain age may also be remembered as the co-creator of the Studio Nue Powered Suit design as first seen in the Japanese language publication of Robert A. Heinlein's Starship Troopers and later, the Daicon Opening Animations.
This 45-page doujinshi contains black and white illustrations by Katou, presumably from short stories or novels. Also includes a couple of short articles about his work and photos of the artist himself. Published in 1982 with a limited print run of 1000.
Condition Notes: In great condition with minimal wear to corners and edges. Some pages have light fading, but overall book is in remarkably good shape for its age. Binding is tight and undamaged.
